OBYC Discovered for Weddings and Anniversaries
The number of bookings for weddings and a variety of special events is rapidly on the increase at the Club, since the Islander Magazine (Islander Magazine pdf), Amelia Islands Weddings (Amelia Island Weddings.pdf) and now Jacksonville Wedding Styles (pages 78-85 and 89-91)) have set their eyes on the natural beauty of the area and the quality of the facilities and cuisine at the Oyster Bay Yacht Club. As one bride declared: “there is little need for extensive decorations because you’re right in the beauty of nature and the pool deck is covered, so potential rain delay is not a concern“.
With a growing number of events on the books, Club Manager Terrie Sanders, points at an additional feature that could be used more extensively in connection with utilizing the Historic Fernandina Beach district, – the possibility of guests being ferried in luxury via Amelia River Cruises from the waterfront to our marina. A beautiful 15 minute trip is all it takes. Ad if you want to make it all exciting, here’s another idea, take the water taxi over and the Polley Trolley back.
