Introducing Chef Bill
With the departure of our famous Chef Tim, who has decided to move closer to his family in South Florida, the management and staff of the Oyster Bay Yacht Club is pleased to announce the addition of Chef William (Bill) Arras to the OBYC team! Chef Bill will arrive the first week of April to head up the OBYC culinary operation as Executive Chef.
Chef Bill comes to us from Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club where he managed the day-to-day operation and executed special events as the General Manager/Executive Chef. During his 9 years there, Chef Bill played an intricate role in Magnolias expansion. He designed the new dining concepts and menus which proved to be very successful with the club’s membership.
Although Chef Bill has spent a good part of his career as the Executive Chef of various clubs, such as, Eagle Harbor Golf Club, The Club Continental and Magnolia he has been involved in several other ventures as well. These include successfully operated his own catering business, designing the kitchen and menu concept for Whitey’s Fish Camp in Orange Park and hosting the food show “In Good Taste” for HGTV not just once but three times.
We have already enjoyed our time spent with Chef Bill, during the interview process, and look forward to the excitement of various talents and experiences he brings with him to the club.
In saying goodbye to Chef Tim, we have all enjoyed the love felt in Chef Tim’s cuisine and appreciate all his hard work and dedication in helping move the club forward during his two years with us. We wish him only the best in his new endeavors, closer to his family. As a token of his appreciation for his time at the Club he wanted us to share the recipe for his famous Bread pudding. Enjoy.
