Amelia Island

Amelia Island is the perfect escape from the frantic pace of your life. From the 100-year-old moss-covered live oaks to the 40-foot rolling sand dunes, Amelia Island boasts one of the most lush environments in the United States. Located on Florida’s northernmost tip, prestigious Amelia Island is home to world-class golf and tennis, fishing, sailing and a rich historical past. Tourists flock to this area to drive to tree-canopied Amelia Island Parkway and walk along the quaint beach town with its shops, B&B’s, galleries, restaurants and coffee shops. Life slows down here, people say hello and smile, the sea breeze is warm and all is good.

Historic Fernandina
Charming Fernandina Beach-a historic Victorian-era seaport-provides ample opportunities for you to shop or dine in an eclectic array of shops and restaurants. Having been ruled under eight different national flags, Fernandina Beach has always been a desirable place to live. Dating back to the mid-1500s, Fernandina-as Fernandina Beach was known until 1951-was originally located at what is now known as “Old Town.” Local legends say that pirates’ treasure and Spanish galleons are still buried there.

Later moved to form the eastern terminus of Henry Flagler’s first railroad  in Florida, Fernandina Beach is the county seat of Nassau County. Bounded by the St. Marys and Amelia Rivers, Fernandina Beach is internationally known as the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry. Watch fisherman unload their hauls as you make your way down Centre Street, a charming eight-block corridor with pedestrian-friendly street-scaping leading to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Fernandina Harbor Marina. Centre Street comprises the heart of the city’s 50-block historic center lined with quaint boutiques, art galleries, cafés and lovely late-Victorian architecture.
