Style Me Pretty Wedding Coverage
It is a privilege when a wedding gets covered by Style Me Pretty Florida. And that is exactly what happened in the October 31 release of the website, when the feature was “commanded” by Casey and Julie Igo’s wedding here at the Oyster Bay Yacht Club on July 21, 2012.
Bride Julie wrote a beautifully touching story about their courtship days leading up to the wedding and RMB Photography documented the happy event in masterful photographs and a beautiful video. (See Julie’s Review on Wedding Wire)Read more
Celebrating Your Wedding at Oyster Bay Yacht Club

AMELIA ISLAND WEDDINGS ARE SO ATTRACTIVE BECAUSE THE GUESTS can enjoy the island’s unique setting just as much as the bride and groom. This was exactly the case at MarySusan Threlkeld and Jack Fulbright’s wedding.
The couple originally met at Florida State University’s Presbyterian Center and were great friends. After graduation they lost touch, until they unexpectedly met while shopping in Brunswick, GA, where each had relocated for work. Excited to reconnect and have a friend in the area, they began spending time together, and, in February 2010, Jack surprised MarySusan with a diamond—and the preparations commenced.
“We chose Amelia Island because we wanted a beach ambiance with a chapel-wedding setting,” explains the bride. MarySusan is a professional violinist who is currently performing with the Albany Symphony Orchestra. She had performed at several weddings at the Amelia Plantation Chapel and fell in love with the natural beauty of the area, particularly at the Oyster Bay Yacht Club. “We found the venue through Amelia Island Weddings Magazine and we knew it was perfect for us,” says MarySusan.
Oyster Bay Yacht Club offers 7,500 square feet of warm and welcoming space—Old Florida-style—with covered porches, verandas, cozy seating, and a great fireplace. One of its best features is its location on the Intracoastal Waterway, with amazing views over the saltmarsh.
“The site is reminiscent of a large, cozy waterfront home,” says the bride, “and we loved the fact that our celebration could take place both indoors and outdoors.”
The couple followed a family tradition by choosing a date of family significance: the weekend of October 1, 2011, which coincided with two family birthdays and two anniversaries. An added bonus was that it was also the weekend of the annual Amelia Island Jazz Festival. “Music was an important part of our weekend, and we loved having the festival as a backdrop,” explains MarySusan.Read more
